Description:
The purpose of this article is to assist with understanding nCino Mortgage system behavior around “shared email addresses” between Borrowers, Co-Borrowers, & additional Borrower Pairs.
Overview:
As a rule nCino Mortgage recommends all users utilize different email addresses to alleviate confusion around log-ins, notifications, & task reminders. However, our system technically supports the use of shared email addresses in some cases.
Supported Email Sharing Scenarios:
-
Primary Borrower shares an email with the Co-Borrower-
The App User associated with that email should have access to and be able to complete ALL Tasks & Docs required by the Primary Borrower & Co-Borrower
-
Primary Borrower shares an email with a Title Only Borrower-
When designated as a TOB (Title Only Borrower), this Borrower technically in a different borrower pair can share an email with the Primary Borrower. This only works if the additional borrower is classified as a Title Only Borrower.
- Borrowers within the SAME Borrower pair can share an email.
Unsupported Email Sharing Scenarios:
- Primary Borrower shares an email with a Borrower as part of a separate Borrower Pair-
Due to the upcoming changes to Multi-Borrower Support our system will NOT support the ability for an additional Borrower Pair to share the same email address with the Primary Borrower and have their own “Co-Applicant Loan App” & Tasks.
Solution:
nCino Mortgage makes a distinction between “Loan Borrowers” aka a borrower associated with a specific loan, and “App Users” aka a user who can log in with credentials and may be associated with multiple Loan Borrowers. While Loan Borrowers can share email addresses, App Users CANNOT, as an App User is a single log-in, with unique credentials.
Additional resources:
- Settings an Admin should consider:
-
“Loan Docs Visible between borrowers” (Can only be adjusted by Support)
-
This setting is intended WHEN DISABLED to prevent the Co-Borrower from logging into their Portal and seeing all of the Primary Borrower’s uploaded Documents, and to generally increase the privacy & security when needed.
-
This setting WHEN ENABLED provides the Primary Borrower & Co-Borrower full access to each other’s Documents.
